Hi,
Isn’t it interesting that the world is governed by some unbending principles and laws? This month, I stumbled again on a particular truth, which I’ll be sharing with you. Let me start with a personal experience, as this will put my thoughts into proper perspective.
Recently, I started working as a part-time lecturer, and in a physics course I covered for a coworker, I taught the topic Energy, Work, and Power. You’ll agree with me that this aspect of physics is interesting, and students can easily reflect on their daily experiences with some of the examples used in class.
I began by asking if anyone knew the fundamental law of energy. Do you remember it? Well, it’s possible you may have forgotten. It simply states that energy cannot be created or destroyed but can be transformed from one form to another.
To cut a long story short, we did a few calculations, and I do not intend to start telling you how to calculate this and that. Nonetheless, an important point from my class was this: energy is equal to work done.
Positive energy means more work, while negative energy translates to less work. Isn’t this a fact you and I already know?
The book I picked this month is titled You Are a Badass by Jen Sincero. There are many interesting points in the book, but a striking one is that life is about energy. In fact, the universe and the matter in it consist of an infinite amount of energy. Little wonder Nikola Tesla said:
“If you want to find the secrets of the universe, think in terms of energy, frequency, and vibration.”
I can say we function daily based on energy, and this energy is often captured in our minds. Abstract phenomena like love, fear, hate, anger, joy, and so on, all represent a certain state or degree of energy. Jen also says in the book that all energy vibrates at a certain frequency. This also means everything you desire—or don’t desire—is vibrating at a frequency.

How is your energy today, and which frequency are you tuned into?
Jen shared a few ways we can tap into the abundant energy the universe has to offer:
1. Gratitude and Forgiveness
Do you have a gratitude journal? The first time I heard about keeping one was last year. I think its main purpose is to help us see and count the many little things we have achieved, even in the midst of many things left undone.
Do you show deep appreciation for the many miracles of life? Do you appreciate or say thank you to people when due? Are you grateful for all you are and all you are becoming? Jen says gratitude connects us to power, and power is energy.
Equally, do you forgive easily—or have you forgiven that person who wronged you in the past? You are accommodating dark energy when you don’t forgive. Get this straight: you can’t have low operating energy if you are grateful and have forgiven all those who wronged you. Gratitude and forgiveness combined grant you inner peace and ultimately position you in a zone of divine energy.
2. Giving Gifts and Receiving
Recently, Bill Gates announced he will be giving away 99% of his wealth over the next 20 years. Why is he doing this? One argument is that wealthy people have a duty to return their fortunes to society (as proposed by Dale Carnegie in an essay titled The Gospel of Wealth). Another argument is that Bill discovered a higher purpose—i.e., meaning—in giving.
Here’s the truth: giving brings you to a state of positive energy—that’s why you feel happy after giving. Cultivate the habit of giving, because you gain more in return from the universe when you give. And guess what? You don’t need to break the bank to give. Just decide and do it.
Aside from giving and the universe’s reaction, learn how to receive from others too. There’s a tendency to behave as if you don’t need help. But no—we all need help, and we all need to be pampered with gifts sometimes.
3. Meditation and Faith
Do you seek to hear what the universe has to tell you daily? There are many distractions in our world today, but do you try your best to silence them? Meditation is crucial for us to capture fresh waves of energy from the universe. Meditation connects you to source energy. Be intentional about mastering the art of meditation and create time for it.
Aside from meditation, you also need faith. Faith is a force—that is, a strong belief in the unseen. When you are intoxicated by faith, it is impossible for fear (which stands for false evidence appearing real) to breathe. Faith defies existing reality and logic. Jen says your brain is a bitch. She is absolutely correct. Imagine the endless possibilities if you could think and take faith-driven action. Faith allows you to take bold steps and that can be characterised as tapping into the energy of the universe.
Conclusion
This month’s note is a call for reawakening and responsibility. Instead of saying “you are a badass,” I think a more appropriate qualifier would be, you are God’s image—i.e., AWESOME. You are unique and have infinite possibilities. In fact, you have the ability to operate from a divine realm. You can create what hasn’t been.
How connected are you to the source energy (i.e., God, or what others call creative intelligence, the universe, etc.)?
The universe operates on certain frequencies and laws, and as humans, to bring certain things into manifestation, we must step up and operate at a frequency that causes resonance. As you go into the second half of the year, decide to operate at a higher frequency. Step up and cause all the forces of the universe to align in your favour.

Quotes from the — You are a Badass by Jen Sincero
The universe is awesome and so am I.
“You are perfect. To think anything less is as pointless as a river thinking that it’s got too many curves or that it moves too slowly or that its rapids are too rapid.”
“You are powerful. You are loved. You are surrounded by miracles.”
“All of us are connected to this limitless power and most of us aren’t using but a fraction of it.”
“Be grateful for all you are and all that you’re becoming.”
“If you are depressed, you are living in the past. If you are anxious, you are living in the future. If you are at peace, you are living in the present.”
“Holding on to resentment is like taking poison and waiting for your enemies to die.”
“Faith smothers your fear of the unknown. Faith allows you to take risks. Faith is the stuff of “leap and the net will appear.”
”Faith is your best buddy when you’re scared shitless.”
